Kol Noar Update

Okay, I bought the cd. I have to drive home from NY across two states right now (no... I didn't drive to NY to buy the cd...), so I'll listen to the cd over and over until I'm sick of it (I know, not a good idea while driving!). I listened to it once, and I'm going to hold back my thoughts on it until I listen to it more. I will mention this; the last song is amazing!

ABD has been released!

Click on the album art to buy the cd!

Here is a write-up on this exciting new album (courtesy of Sameach Music).
"ABD??? What is that? Who is that? Where is that? ABD stands for Ami, Binyomin & Dovid. It all started one Simchas Torah between Hakofos, an idea was born among three friends in Toronto "lets get together and record a song." Two years later, "a song" became 11 wonderfully diverse and beautiful songs which are sure to become classics. The compositions on ABD range from Ballads to Disco, A ccappella to Rock, Latin to Celtic and everything in between. As different as each tune is from the next, there is a common thread of Achdus and warmth throughout the album. ABD managed to attract the attention of some of Jewish music’s most well known composers and features songs composed by Abie Rotenberg, Baruch Levine, Ami Frankel & Eli Woznica with musical arrangements by Dudi Kalish & Eli Wiznica. The result, ABD, an album you will enjoy for a long time and share with family and friends. Proceeds from the album will go to Yeshivas Nefesh Dovid. About Yeshivas Nefesh Dovid: The first Jewish high school of its kind in the world, Yeshivas Nefesh Dovid (YND) channels the knowledge of Torah into the hearts, minds and lives of deaf and hard-of-hearing young men. YND, with its sterling secular educational program, is a valuable support system for this population throughout the global Jewish community. YND accepts young men in their teens from yeshivos, Jewish Day Schools and public schools and addresses all of the emotional and academic challenges that those with hearing loss typically deal with on a daily basis regardless of mode of communication. A unique aspect of the program is the presence of role models who are deaf or hard-of-hearing themselves, including Rabbi Kakon, the Rosh Yeshiva (dean) and co-founder Dr. Hart Bressler,MD. In addition to trained and qualified rebbeim, sign language interpreting services, speech pathology, audiology services and an array of recreational activities all complement the program. Since its inception, YND’s current home base at the Yeshiva Gedolah of Toronto only serves to further integrate the students with hearing peers and the community at large."
